KaplanChristina Kaplan

Born and raised in Newtown Borough, Christina was exposed to the Yoga world as a toddler, inspired by her Mother and first yoga teacher, Elle Kaplan. As a young girl, she unfortunately began to experience forms of chronic pain, this is when she gently opened to the idea of yoga and the myriad of benefits. In her teenage years, she began to attend classes and workshops alongside her Mother, closely learning through various advanced and renowned yoga and spiritual teachers such as Seane Corn, Ashley Turner, Elena Brower, and Marianne Williamson. Christina is both very fortunate and humbled to have the ability to learn so much from these unique teachers, most importantly, she is grateful to cultivate such a deep an understanding of Yoga in all aspects of life: physically, mentally, and spiritually through so many different perspectives.
At the age of 18, carrying this holistic understanding of Yoga into her college experience at the University of Redlands, Christina began to teach impromptu basic yoga classes to her peers. This is when she realized that teaching was her true, innate passion and was eager to learn more.
In the summer of 2015, she embarked on a month-long, intensive journey to the Big Island of Hawaii for her 200-hour Yoga Works Teacher Training, studying under Alicia Cheung and Oliver Reinsch. This being when her passion blossomed and her path became more clear than ever before.
Since her initial training, her teachings have truly evolved. Christina recently traveled to Morocco to study with her teachers for a 100-hour Yin Yoga and Myofascial Release Teacher Training, thus, heightening her awareness to the impact slow movement and deep stretching can have on the body. She has also studied in trainings such as an Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with David Swenson and an Off the Mat Leadership Training with Off the Mat, Into the World. With such contrasting styles of Yoga trainings under her belt, Christina is constantly reminded of the value of balance- both on and off the mat.
Living home in Newtown, PA, Christina travels on her yogic path. Additionally, she is an award-winning artist and illustrator, a Reiki practitioner, trained in therapeutic Thai massage, a personal trainer, co-owner of GiNCHi Apparel, and founder of the International Yoga Teacher Support Group. All in which complement her practice and teachings throughout.
Christina believes that Yoga is the work that we do in order to be reach our inner peace. Through this work, we face the uncomfortable, burn through our traumas and learn our lessons in order to move forward with truth and love. She invites her students to find the strength within their vulnerability- triggering their shadows, brightening their light. Finding the balance, mystified by the connection of our universe and the beauty within all existence, she assists her students in their own journey of self-love, focus, and devotion.
