Awakening the Sensual Body to the Sensational World: A movement improvisation workshop

Join Abigail for this interactive movement workshop to enliven your senses and deepen your connection with your body and the world! Healing dance practitioner Abigail Laine will lead you through a guided experience involving music, meditation, and dance improvisation. Although our bodies are the vehicles through which we experience life, often in our modern world we live disconnected from ourselves, the earth, and each other. This workshop will guide and enable you to reconnect with your body and the world around you through movement exercises focused on awakening your sensory awareness. We will engage in gentle stretching, improvisation, toning, and playful exercises both indoors and out. Loose fitting and comfortable clothing is advised. You may also bring a yoga mat if you wish for segments completed on the floor, though it is not required. We look forward to reconnecting to our bodies and awakening to this sensational world with you.

Presenter: Abigail Laine is an international dance healing artist and performer. She facilitates movement-based rituals through workshops and one-on-one sessions, nurturing others’ connection to the body, wisdom within, and sense of the Divine. Her training spans across a mix of modern and world dance styles, drawing heavily upon improvisation & somatic techniques such as Body Mind Centering, Authentic Movement, Kundalini Yoga, Qigong, imagery and visualization. She received degrees in Dance and Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA where she was named the Merrifield Award Recipient of “Outstanding Intercultural Leadership” for her work fostering interfaith dialogue. Her passion for interculturalism has influenced her spiritually and artistically, having studied, performed and instructed in countries such as Israel, Greece, Argentina, Sweden, and others. As a healer, Abigail connects to celestial energy, especially working with angels, Christ, Mary (Mother & Magdalene), the Pleiades, and the Goddess. She uses shamanic principles to transmit energy through her performances and teaching, inviting people into the work while opening the space for them to have their own healing experience. She brings a sense of free-spiritedness, connection to nature and play to all she does. As an artist, Abigail also expresses her divine message through painting, sound and poetry.
